I am having a terrible time concentrating on my Kindle.
Instead of fighting it, which caused me to put off reading, I decided to switch gears.
I’m going to read The Address, of which I have a physical copy. I’ve already started and I am doing much better.

I DO LIKE the other Fiona Davis book so far, so I’m going to order a hard copy.
I may have to stick to physical books for now.
I do think it’s because of work and screen fatigue. I pulled out my copy of the book Digital Minimalism and re-read a few chapters about creating a better relationship with technology and with people. I find this book fascinating and highly recommend it. I’m contemplating a 30 day digital detox.

Hope all your weekends are going well. Happy reading!
I understand the screen fatigue; I don’t usually read digitally, but with lockdowns and scaled back postal services, I started trying to read a new Illona Andrews book she’s publishing on her website by chapter, and I just can’t focus, even though I know and love the characters. I’m having much better luck with the print books and hope they work better for you too. 🙂

Thank you! You describe exactly how I felt, good to know I’m not alone! 🙂

I totally understand, and I think it is a great strategy to radically read something else for a change. At the start of the quarantine I was also doing exclusively computer work (while normally I intersperse it with wet lab work), and I couldn’t focus on any thing with a screen either in the evenings. Even reading was difficult, but luckily it is better now.
Hope the print books will help you!

Is your kindle a tablet fire or one of the eink kindles? I don’t find my kindle oasis to be “screen’y” at all, if you know what I mean. Eink has saved my life 😀
I am glad that switching your format has made a difference. It is when it doesn’t that you start to worry 😉

I do use eink. Which is why I found all this weird. I wonder if my eye prescription has changed as well? Hmmm. I’m sticking with physical books for now because I do find it relaxing. I haven’t given up on my kindle paperwhite though.
