Review: Liar and Spy

Liar & Spy by [Rebecca Stead]

Rating: 3/5 stars

This was an entertaining read about a young boy who moves in to a new apartment and joins a “spy club” – basically another boy in the building who is spying on their neightbor Mr. X. The two are trying to ascertain if Mr. X is shady or not. This book had some funny and clever moments, but I felt like the twist in the book was a bit of a stretch… and not entirely believable. I read this because I loved Ms. Stead’s When You Reach Me… which is one of my favorite books. I will be re-reading that one soon. This one wasn’t as good but it kept me turning the pages.
